NEW COURSES: The Chester-le-Street Community Centre is running a ten-week beginners' bridge course costing £30, between 7pm and 9pm, starting on Thursday, January 16, and a ten-week intermediate German course costing £2.50 a session, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm starting Friday, January 17. STARRY EUCHARIST: St John's Parish Church in Birtley is holding a Eucharist Service with the Stargazers story at 10am on Sunday.
ANY OLD IRON: An antiques roadshow which is hoping to discover old fishing equipment, guns and militaria is being held by Holt's Auction House in Lumley Castle next Tuesday.
