A GROUP of teenagers have pulled out all the stops to help a severely handicapped little girl get around.
Skaters and bikers from Shildon's newly-built skate park jumped at the chance to help raise money for nine-year-old Sarah Cail, who desperately needs a new push-chair.
As well as doing a door-to-door collection the group, which has formed its own committee, has also taken part in a sponsored leg wax.
So far members have raised £520, which they have presented to Sarah and her family.
However, they have pledged to continue in their bid to make life for the Shildon youngster more comfortable.
Spokesman Mark Bowes, 16, said: "We just wanted to help. I am also planning on dressing up as Miss Shildon and parading up and down the main street with a collection bucket.''
Sarah suffers from a rare terminal illness called Mitchondrial Syndrome. Her mother Diane said it is difficult getting Sarah on and off public transport because the chair she uses is too heavy.
She said: "We want a light-weight buggy that weighs about 15lb. The one we have is really heavy and it makes going out for the day with her very difficult.''
She said she was delighted that the local teenagers had taken Sarah to their hearts.
