IT is all well and good being in a museum but somehow it's just not cricket.
For Guisborough Ted, the first mascot given to Guisborough Ladies' Cricket Club in 1918, remembers his young days as the only man in the all-female team.
But the cuddly toy has still scored a hit with 2,000 visitors who have turned up to Kirkleatham Hall Museum's historic toy exhibition.
The bear was donated to the museum by Elsie Towle.
She explained to curator Alan Pearce that Ted originally belonged to her childhood friend, May Blackett, who loaned it to the cricket club shortly after the First World War. Mrs Blackett later gave Guisborough Ted to Mrs Towle.
The exhibition runs until Easter.
