PLANS to extend a care home in Yarm are likely to be refused when councillors meet tomorrow.
Members of Stockton Borough Council's planning committee will discuss plans to extend the Ayresome Court care home in the town's Green Lane, which would create 15 bedrooms, and additional laundry and lounge space.
The council has received ten letters of objections from neighbouring residents, including a petition containing 13 names.
They are concerned the extension would overlook their gardens and cause a loss of privacy and light.
They are also worried that the amount of noise coming from the building would increase.
A report by planning officers said: "It is considered this proposal would be overbearing, would lead to a loss of privacy to neighbours through overlooking and would constitute overdevelopment of the site.
"As the amenities of the occupiers of nearby properties would be unduly affected, the application is recommended for refusal."
