BUS STOP RISKS: Villagers walking to the bus stop in Constable Burton are risking their lives, parish councillors concluded.
North Yorkshire County Council has been urged to resite the stop in the centre of the village. The bus stop was installed outside Constable Burton Caravan Park, but with no footpath, villagers have to walk along the busy A684. The highways department has also been asked to move the 30mph speed limit further out of the village in an effort to reduce the problem of speeding.
WINTER GRIT: Grit bins had not yet been provided for Finghall Bank, while grit had yet to be delivered to Barden. Highways officials were to be urged to take action.
YOUTH VAN VISIT: Richmondshire District Council had contacted the parish to organise visits by a youth bus equipped with computers, CD players and other equipment. More information was to be requested.
PARISH TALK: The Council for the Protection of Rural England is to be invited to give a talk in Constable Burton Reading Room on a date to be arranged.
PRECEPT HELD: Finghall parish precept has been held at £1,000 for the third year.
Diary date: The parish council holds its next meeting on February 20.
