Tow Law Bass League - Tow Law New Market - A virtually carved their name on the Championship trophy when they only dropped three points to the visiting Sunniside Moss Inn to increase their lead to 15 points with a match in hand and only four left in the league programme.
The Moss Inn got away to a great start when they took the first trebles but then they lost the second and only managed to take two singles points through Lee Cullinan and John Savory. The New Market had singles points from Kenneth Atkinson, Darren Yeoman, Bobby Gray and John Parkin an then they went on to take all three doubles points. The New Market also kept themselves in the Captain's Table when Kenneth Atkinson won to stay level with Esh Stag's Head and Newhouse Club, with the Market and the Stag's having a match in hand on the Club.
Esh Stag's Head visited Tow Law Station in their re-arranged match and just managed to edge through by the odd point. After the trebles were shared the Station moved ahead in the singles with wins from Stephen Raine, Shaun Kenny, George Hope and Norman Brown, whilst only David Platt and Tom March scored for the Stag's. The visitors picked up in doubles and took all three points for victory. David Platt of the Stag's won the captain's game against Stephen Raine to stay in contention for that title.

Crook Ladies League
Tow Law New Market B slipped to only their fourth defeat of the season when they made the short trip to Tow Law Black Horse and lost by the odd point. Defeat never seemed a possibility as the Market took the singles by four to two, but the Horse replied by taking the doubles at two to one and clinched victory by winning the double points team game.
A good win at the Black Horse could have put the New Market B safely in line for the runners-up trophies but now they only lead Crook Jelly's Bar B by six points with the same number of matches left.
