Tow Law Area League
Esh Stag's Head moved to a commanding position when they won their re-arranged match at Tow Law Station by the odd point to move into second place, four points adrift but with a match in hand. The home side took two singles through Jacqueline Hope and Shaun Kenny, whilst the visitors went ahead with wins from John Hodgson, Mally Walker, Mike Wightman and Tom March. They then made certain of victory by taking the first doubles but the Station fought back to take the last two.
Tow Law New Market A missed a good chance of threatening the leaders when their re-arranged home match with Sunniside Moss Inn saw them well beaten by three points. Only Bobby Gray and David Dixon took singles for the home side, whilst Frank Jopling, Elaine Cullinan, John Hodgson and Lee Cullinan won for the Moss, who took two of the three doubles to complete a good victory.
