A VOLUNTARY group has been given a boost after receiving a £2,000 donation.
The Victoria Community House, in Stockton, provides a drop-in centre, adult education courses, a job skills project and other training for residents of the house.
The Action Team For Jobs group has donated the money to the Victoria Estate Action Group, a voluntary group set up 14 years ago to tackle problems on the estate, for two stairlifts.
Councillor David Coleman, the deputy leader of Stockton Borough Council, said: "The two stairlifts that have been installed thanks to the donation will make a real difference to the users of the community house."
