MIDDLESBROUGH Football Club chairman Steve Gibson has received an award from the Show Racism the Red Card campaign for work done by the club.
The award was presented on the Riverside pitch before Saturday's home game against Southampton by members of the Show Racism the Red Card committee.
Project co-ordinator Ged Grebby said: "Middlesbrough Football Club are only the second club in the UK to receive a Show Racism the Red Card award.
"They are getting it for doing more than ten events with our campaign.
"Our organisation is now into its seventh year and we have had hundreds of professional footballers and managers involved in our campaign.
"This event allowed us to say a public thank you to Middlesbrough FC, the staff and the players who have helped us make our campaign such a success.
"We are confident that the anti-racist message is winning the day, but we can't be complacent in the fight against racism."
The campaign is sponsored by the Professional Footballers Association, Unison and the National Union of Teachers.
