YOUNGSTERS in Helmsley have been inspired by a television show to help people in the Third World.
Pupils at Helmsley Primary School are raising money for Blue Peter's water appeal.
The pupils organised a bring-and-buy sale at the town's Black Swan Hotel yesterday, with all proceeds being donated to the appeal.
"The event was really well supported by friends, families and visitors - it was wonderful. We have raised nearly £400 towards the appeal," said one of the mothers, Alison Souter.
"The stalls were all run by the children and everybody had a marvellous time."
A spokesman from the hotel said: "The children have organised the event all by themselves - we just helped them out with a venue.
"We were delighted to be able to offer our assistance."
