The presenter of BBC1's Bargain Hunt programme, David Dickinson, will be at the Great Northern International Antiques and Collectors Fair at the weekend.
His team will be filming at the largest fair in the North, held at the Yorkshire Showground, in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The event takes place from Friday to Sunday. Doors open at 10.30am on Friday and 9.30am on the other days.
PUNCTUAL FLIGHTS: Thomas Cook Airlines, formerly JMC Airlines, has been named the best for keeping on time during last year's summer season, by Holiday Which? magazine. Two years ago the airline, which has flights out of Newcastle Airport, was named a poor performer by the Air Users Council.
WOOING VISITORS: The Yorkshire Coast and Country Partnership began a marketing campaign this week to attract visitors from Holland into the region. Scarborough Borough Council has joined forces to promote the area at a holiday exhibition in Utrecht, after Holland and Belgium were identified as key foreign markets.
HOUSE FIRE: Four people needed hospital treatment after a bedroom fire at a house in Greenford Road, Walker, Newcastle, on Sunday morning. A man and a girl suffered burns and a woman and a boy suffered smoke inhalation. All were taken to Newcastle General Hospital.
TODDLER FREED: Fire officers were called to a house at Milton Lane, Easington Village, east Durham, shortly after noon on Sunday when a toddler locked himself in the bathroom. They forced the door to release him.
PENSIONER DIES: A pensioner died after being trapped while working underneath his car when a jack slipped. Firefighters called to Hallgarth Road, Winlaton, near Gateshead, raised the vehicle with air bags but the man, believed to be 70, was declared dead by ambulance personnel.
MYSTERY MEAL: Lumley Castle Hotel, in Chester-le-Street, County Durham, is planning a murder mystery dinner during which guests will have to guess who the killer is. The event will be held on Saturday. For details call 0191-242 0001.

SCHOOL WALK: Parents on the East Coast are doing their bit to reduce traffic congestion during the school-run period and are walking their children to school. The scheme has been backed by North Yorkshire County Council and aims to encourage children take the healthier route to school.
