A TEENAGER has been arrested in connection with an alleged attack on a pensioner in the early hours of New Year's Day.
The 18-year-old woman is due to appear in court on Friday, charged with violent disorder. She was arrested at the weekend by police investigating an incident in Newton Street, Ferryhill, County Durham, at about 2.50am on New Year's Day, when Anthony Atkinson was allegedly attacked by a group of youths.
His daughter, Marie, and son-in-law Leslie Tweedy were also injured after an altercation was said to have taken place.
The woman will appear before Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court.
