COUNCIL chiefs are continuing to press for the upgrading of the A66 around Darlington.
Enhancing the single-carriageway bypass is seen as a key part in the economic regeneration of Darlington and the Tees Valley, say members of Darlington Borough Council's transport forum, who are set to meet next week .
The council hopes the bypass will be made a priority in the next five to ten years.
The transport forum meets on Monday to discuss developments in the Tees Valley Gateway Study.
