AUDITIONS for the chance to star in a film by the director of a hit Hollywood film are to take place soon.
Peter Howitt, who wrote and directed the 1998 romance, Sliding Doors, with Gwyneth Paltrow and John Hannah, is to hold auditions for the lead role of his latest film, The Other Half.
It is about a 19-year-old girl called Steph, from South Shields who decides life is becoming too predictable and responds to an advert to pick grapes in Bordeaux.
Peter Howitt and producer Richard Johns are looking for someone to fill the shoes of the main character, whether or not they have considered acting before.
Auditions are from 9am and 1pm, and 2pm and 7pm, at Tyne Tees Television's studio in City Road, Newcastle, on Saturday, January 25. Recalls will be held the following day.
Anyone wanting to take part should ring 07768 367790 and leave their details.
