A MAN was remanded in custody yesterday after appearing in court in connection with an incident that left another man with a metal plate in his left cheek and over his left eye to help repair a broken jaw.
Robert George Hindmarsh appeared before magistrates in Harrogate accused of causing grievous bodily harm to Andrew Fuller at his home in Quarry Moor Lane, Ripon, on January 3.
Hindmarsh, 25, of Hambleton Court, Ripon, was also charged with using threatening behaviour provoking fear of violence during an incident alleged to have taken place in the city on Christmas Eve.
An application for bail was refused by presiding magistrate Janet Frankland and Hindmarsh was remanded to Hull Prison.
He will reappear via video link between the prison and the court on Tuesday.
