Bylaws could soon be introduced in a park to help guarantee visitors a peaceful time.
Saltwell Park, Gateshead, thought by many to be the finest Victorian park in the North-East, is undergoing extensive work to recreate its Victorian splendour.
Now councillors are considering new and updated bylaws which could cover a range of issues, such as where noisy games can be played, the control of dogs, horse riding and cycling in the park.
They want to set clear limits on what people can and cannot do there.
The bylaws would also give the park's new team of wardens the tools to deal with unruly or anti-social behaviour. Anyone found breaching a bylaw could be brought before magistrates and fined.
