POLICE have recovered replica guns in part of a massive haul of stolen property found during a raid.
Officers, acting on intelligence, raided a lock-up to the rear of Union Street in Guisborough on Tuesday.
They found the garage packed to the rafters with boxes containing a wide-range of goods thought to be the proceeds of burglaries and organised shop-lifting.
"First reports from officers who forced open the doors said it was an Aladdin's Cave," said Det Insp Michael Wall. Golf clubs, household goods and electrical equipment as well as the replica guns were recovered and police will now try to trace the rightful owners.
The raid was part of Operation Vulcan, which was launched on Monday.
