AN army cadet from Northallerton has been presented with a shield as a thank you for raising almost £200 for the Poppy Appeal.
Cadet Dan Wright attended an awards ceremony at the Territorial Army Centre, in Thirsk Road, and was presented with the shield by John Hutchinson, of the Northallerton Royal British Legion (RBL).
Detachment Commander Andrea Brazil said that 11 cadets collected more than £720 between them.
"The Army Cadet Force historically helps the Royal British Legion throughout the country to maximise the amount of money raised for the Poppy Appeal," she said.
The Army Cadet Force is seeking adult instructors. Anyone interested is asked to call (01609) 775268.
