The only two fixtures which beat the weather were both first round proper Durham Minor cup ties.
The Albion versus Archdeacon tie saw a very competitive first half edged by Albion who added to their one good advantage either side of half time to take a 3-0 lead and effectively knock the stuffing out of the Deacon. The Albion continued to press without being at their best and were rewarded with a further three goals to take the tie to 6-0. The excellent Gary Mitchell notched a hat trick and there was one a piece from Christopher and Jonathan Robson and Adrian Weston.
In very heavy conditions Killinghall Arms entertained a very good Hartlepool Pinnacle who scored three absolutely corking goals to lead 3-0 at the interval. Killie took the game to the visitors and were rewarded when Gary Orford pulled one back. However Killie lost another goal on the break before Danny Hanafin stroked home a penalty to make the final score 4-2. The game was played in an excellent spirit throughout with not one bad tackle marring a tremendous advert for grassroots football.
