Tow Law Bass League
Tow Law Cattle Mart managed to win by the odd point at Stanley Earl Derby to stay in third place in the table but seem to have no chance of overtaking the second placed Newhouse Club, who are 30 points ahead of the leaders, Tow Law New Market A, who are 43 points ahead.
The Derby made a very good start by taking two points from the trebles but then only managed two singles when Wayne Anderson and Mally Henry won.
The Mart levelled the match with singles wins from Colin Boughey, Colin A Boughey, Kevin Henry and Stephen Boughey. The Mart took the first two doubles to clinch their victory.
There was another key result for Colin Boughey beat Wayne Anderson in the Captain's Table to share equal third place, whilst the Derby slipped to equal fifth place. Also in the Captain's Table Kenneth Atkinson of the New Market A beat David Platt of the Stag's Head to share top spot with Newhouse Club and slip the Stag's into equal third place.
It wasn't a good week for high individual scores as only Les Sanders junior of the Earl Derby and Gavin Tennant of the New Market B managed to hit 140's.
