David Judge won his first gold medal competing in the Under-17 men's shot putt at the North East Counties Indoor championships held at Monkton Stadium Jarrow on Sunday December 5.
The Under-17 men's was a straight final, David's best effort of 12.63m was enough to earn him the gold, in second place was James Pearn of Sunderland Harriers 10.97m and third place went to Richard Ward of Houghton and Peterlee 10.77m.
At the North-East Counties Indoor Track championships also held in Jarrow on January 5, Alex Todd, who has only been a member for just under a year, won his first medal in the Under-15 boy's 60m. Alex won his heat inn a PB time of 7.70secs and went on to win the silver medal in the final in the same time.
At the fourth fixture of the North Yorkshire and South Durham Cross Country league held at Acklam School, Middlesbrough on Sunday January 12, Khalil Thompson easily won the Under-13 boy's event over two miles coming home 24 seconds clear of his nearest rival.
Amy Bunning made welcome return to the club with an encouraging run in the Under-13 girls race finishing in 16th position in a time of 11.37 and Jalal Thompson had a good run in the Under-15 boy's to finish in tenth place in a time of 12.54.
In the Senior Men's event first back for the club was Adam Ingram in 45th place in a time of 30.21.
