AN extension to an athletics club will be opened on Monday by the Mayor of Middlesbrough, Ray Mallon.
The extension to the Dorman Long Athletics Club has cost £1m and will feature a new function, games and family room, plus an enlarged foyer.
Club secretary Derek Tattersfield said: "We are very pleased that Ray Mallon can mark this very important development in the life of the club. The extension takes our facilities into the 21st Century."
Mr Mallon said: "The Dorman Long Club has played a major contribution in the life of our town for well over a hundred years. The new facilities are the latest chapter in that proud record."
