A CLUB has achieved a fundraising target that will allow it to provide affordable holidays for people with disabilities.
The North-East Disabled Motorists' Club, which meets in Perkinsville, near Chester-le-Street, has raised enough money to buy a caravan especially adapted for people with disabilities.
It took the club nine months to raise the £30,000 needed to buy the static caravan at Butlins, in Skegness. About half the money came from grants from Barclays Bank and National Lottery cash.
The club meets on the third Sunday of every month at Perkinsville Community Hall. For more details about the club, contact (01207) 283986.
