ARTISTS from County Durham are being invited to submit their work for a regional display, with the bonus of prize money on offer for the pick of the entries.
The People Show is a both a competition and exhibition, with £1,800 up for grabs for the best four pictures selected by the judging panel from the world of art, industry and communications.
Organised by The University Gallery at Newcastle's Northumbria University, it is described as, 'a celebration of life,' on the theme of people.
It includes everything from portraits and self-portraits, to life studies and narrative or figure compositions.
Entries can be oil paintings, watercolours, drawings, prints, photographs, sculpture or ceramics.
The maximum size, including outside edge of the mounting or frame, is 36 by 36ins, while sculptures must have a maximum single measurement of 36ins.
Entries must be delivered to The University Gallery in Sandyford Road, Newcastle, on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 28/29, between 10am and 4.30pm. There is a £6 entry fee.
Selected pieces of work can be viewed at The People Show exhibition, at the gallery, from February 8 to March 7, with free admission.
