PUB regulars have raised thousands of pounds for local causes and charities through regular quiz competitions.
And the latest to benefit from the efforts of the Tickle Toby Inn, Northallerton, owned and run by the Beckwith family, is the Mowbray Suite at the town's Friarage Hospital.
The medical day unit, which mainly treats cancer patients and patients requiring day case treatments, received £150 following nomination by quiz regular and patient Margaret Williamson. She wanted to say thank you to the staff for their help and support during her treatment at the hospital.
Sister of the Mowbray Suite, Susan Whitehead, said: "We would like to say a big thank you to the quiz enthusiasts and to the Beckwith family and everyone who helped to raise the money.
"We are grateful for the help and it will be of benefit to our patients at what can be a very vulnerable time in their lives."
