VISITORS to Cockerton library, in Darlington, can now surf the Internet using new computers paid for by the Gates Foundation.
The computers are free for the first half-hour and cost £2 per hour afterwards. To book a session, call (01325) 461320. The library is open on weekdays, except Wednesdays, from 9.30am to 7pm, and Saturdays to 1pm.

SPEEDING FINE: David John Dawson, 39, of Stanley Street, Norton, Stockton, was fined £150 with £35 costs by Darlington magistrates yesterday, after he admitted speeding on the A689 at Bradbury.
COFFEE MORNING: The Mayor of Sedgefield Borough, Councillor David Newell, is supporting The Pioneering Care Partnership and Saint Dunstan's, at a coffee morning on Saturday, February 8, from 10am to noon, at the Pioneering Care Centre, Cobblers Hall, Newton Aycliffe. MOTORING OFFENCES: Paul Mann, 27, of Harrison Terrace, Darlington, admitted driving without a valid licence or insurance when he appeared before Darlington magistrates yesterday, and was fined £150 with £35 costs.
OFFENCES ADMITTED:A fine of £75 was imposed on Steven Geoffrey Thompson, 23, of Barden Moor Road, Darlington, by the town's magistrates yesterday, after he admitted driving without a valid licence or insurance.

DRIVER FINED: Ian Lee, 27, of Coronation Terrace, Crook, was fined £60 with £35 costs by Darlington magistrates yesterday, after he admitted driving with two faulty tyres and faulty lights.
