ALMOST 2,000 civil service jobs are being created at Government agencies across the North-East.
The Department for Work and Pensions begins a big recruitment exercise to appoint administrative officers and administrative assistants today.
About half will be based at the Tyneview Park Pension Centre, in North Tyneside, while hundreds of others will be at JobCentre Plus offices, customer contact centres and Child Support Agency branches in the region.
Applicants will have to demonstrate experience of customer service, flexibility, working on their own initiative, good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.
Salaries will range from £9,000 to £15,310.
Job hunters from Newcastle, North Tyneside, Gateshead, South Tyneside and Northumberland can book interview places by calling 0191-478 8200.
People living elsewhere in the region should contact their nearest JobCentre for more information or ring 0191-220 8986
