PUPILS at a North-East primary school will soon be able to benefit from top class sports and arts facilities thanks to a £550,000 grant.
The money has come from Space for Sport and Arts.
Work is due to start on the project in the coming weeks and will be attached to the Robert Atkinson Youth and Community Centre in Thornaby, Teesside.
It will create new space for a range of indoor sport and arts activities, including gymnastics, kwick cricket, five-a-side football, short tennis, basketball, dance and drama.
The facility is primarily for use by pupils of Harewood Junior School for both curricular and extra curricular activities. In addition, the new space will be made available to other primary schools in Thornaby to compliment and enhance their curricular programme
