THE full story of the restoration of Nelson's last surviving frigate has itself now sailed into history.
Two years after the restoration of the Trincomalee, Britain's oldest surviving warship, was completed at Hartlepool, the story has been lodged in the archives of the University of Teesside's learning resource centre in Middlesbrough, where it will be studied by academics and students for generations to come.
The ship was based at Hartlepool between 1862 and 1877, when it was called the Foudroyant.
