A FITNESS initiative that aims to help people in Hartlepool improve their health and quality of life is being expanded.
The Hartlepool Exercise for Life (Help) scheme was set up in 1999 to work with people referred by GPs, physiotherapists and other health professionals. Now, the scheme is launching a course of exercise in partnership with the town's Eldon Grove Community Sports Centre.
People formally referred to Help, as well as non-referrals, can attend the weekly sessions which start on Tuesday and run from 10.30am to 11.30am, in the community sports centre's fitness suite.
It will offer participants the chance to take part in a variety of exercise activities.
The scheme costs £1.60 per week, or £1 for people on the Options benefits scheme.
Anyone who is interested can contact Margaret, on (01429) 861866.
