TENANTS in a North-East city tower block can rest assured that their homes are a safe zone after the completion of a security scheme.
Residents of Cruddas Park House and traders from Cruddas Park shopping centre, in Newcastle, marked the culmination of a £300,000 revamp to provide 24-hour surveillance for the complex.
The improvements include security cameras and intruder alarms, with rooftop cameras overseeing the car parks and main access routes to enforce a general safe zone in the area. The system was opened by Tyne Bridge MP David Clelland.
