A DOORMAN had a fortunate escape after thugs tried to pet- rol bomb his car as he drove to work.
The man, who has not been named, was leaving his home in East View, Dipton, County Durham, to drive to work at the Trades nightclub, in John Street, Consett, when the attack happened.
Detectives said the doorman described hearing a thud at the back of his car, as the petrol-filled milk bottle bounced off the vehicle. It exploded on the road behind him.
The attack took place on Friday, at about 9.30pm.
