THE launch of a promising business venture has proved a real family affair for budding entrepreneur Janice Graham.
She is banking on her sister, daughter and niece to help her make her latest enterprise a real success story in Darlington.
Janice, 42, who has run the Springfield Wines off-licence in Thompson Street East since May, has branched out with two other businesses.
The same premises are now being used for a tanning studio and a beauty therapy room.
The enterprise has been praised by Darlington Business Venture and is set to thrive over the coming year.
Janice has been joined in the business by sister Susan Preston, daughter Cheryl Harper and niece Ashleigh Bramley.
She said: "Juggling three businesses has given me an independence I never had. I have enjoyed giving my family the opportunity of employment."
The tanning salon was launched just over three months ago and has already attracted about 500 customers.
"With what I was paying out in rent and rates, I just thought I wanted to get some use out of some extra space. I looked into things and there were no other sun beds in this area," said Janice.
"We have got three estates, with The Springfield pub and the Asda store nearby."
She added that she was now hoping to secure a grant from Darlington Business Venture to help cover various costs.
The new beauty room above the premises is now almost ready to rent and any local therapists who may be interested in taking space is invited to contact Janice Graham at Springfield Wines on (01325) 462575.
