CHILDREN on a Darlington estate who wanted more to do outside school are to have their wish granted.
Development workers at Firthmoor Community Centre were constantly being told by bored youngsters that they wanted better activities.
The centre successfully applied for cash from the National Lottery-funded New Opportunities Fund and Children's Fund and is looking to appoint two play workers to keep the children entertained.
"They would come in and say 'there's not enough, we want supervised facilities, nothing goes on in this area'," said centre development officer Martin Landers.
The posts, for a play development worker at £9 an hour and a play worker at £7 an hour, are both for 20 hours a week until April 2005.
To apply, telephone Mr Landers on (01325) 254641.
