WORK has started on a new office for the Sure Start programme in Darlington.
The Government-backed initiative aims to improve the health and well-being of families with young children.
It provides education and play opportunities, health care and advice to parents and pre-school youngsters.
The new building, next to Darlington Railway Museum, will be a purpose-built complex featuring a nursery, information centre and meeting rooms. It is hoped about 15 staff will work in the building. Car parking spaces will also be included in the building project.
