A WOMAN had a lucky escape after being trapped in her car underneath an overturned roadsweeper.
The lorry was negotiating a hairpin bend at Pot Bank on the B6161, near Harrogate, yesterday when it toppled on to a Kia car coming the other way.
Susan Darling, 54, of Hartwith, North Yorkshire, was taken to Harrogate District Hospital by police escort. Her injuries were not serious and she was later allowed home.
The driver of the roadsweeper, 43-year-old Allan Smith, of Acomb, near York, was also taken to Harrogate District Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.
