AFTER a year of negotiations, the church parishes of Coatham and Dormanstown, in Redcar, have amalgamated.
The new parish of Coatham and Dormanstown will maintain two churches; Christ Church, in Coatham, and All Saints, in Dormanstown.
Vicar John Richardson will live at Coatham and the Dormanstown Vicarage is to be sold.
A candlelit service to mark the merger will be held at Christ Church, Coatham, on Sunday, February 2, at 6pm, and will be followed by drinks in the Church Hall.
