TIME is running out for anyone wanting to help steer a multi-million pound project in Hartlepool.
Friday, January 31, is the deadline for nominations to fill a vacancy on the steering group of the New Deal for Communities (NDC) project. The vacancy is for a resident from the NDC's north area.
NDC is spending £54m of Government money transforming an area bordering the town centre, which stretches from Hart Lane in the north to Belle Vue in the south. It is home to 10,000 people.
Twelve seats on the steering group are held by residents in the NDC area - four each from the north, centre and south of the area.
A vacancy has arisen for one of the north representatives after the current steering group member stood down.
Details of the election process and a nomination form are in a leaflet which has been delivered to all homes in the area.
If more than one nomination is received, a leaflet detailing all the candidates will be sent to households and an election will be held next month.
