WHEAT prices have remained around the £60 mark as export values have improved with currency movements and logistical problems in other exporting regions. It is more that the export market has reached our levels than that it has put up our prices. Both wheat and barley have been offered into intervention, which gives a support price in the low £60s, depending on quality.
Oilseed prices have moved in a narrow range following US markets. European oilseeds are however more expensive than other sources but, as supply is limited, any price fall will probably only be short-term.The weather in South America will, however, have the major effect on soya prices.
