A new ladies football league is being launched in the region later this year.
The Teesborough Sunday Morning Men's League are to branch out and form a ladies division to cater for the growing demand.
With games to be played on a Sunday afternoon and beginning in August, the league is for women aged 16 and over.
Officials are holding a meeting at the Queens Social Club, Queens Avenue, Thornaby on Tuesday, February 11 at 7.30pm. Any interested are welcome to attend.
Organiser, Paul Conway, said: "We are more than happy to hear from any new clubs or existing ladies teams who do not play in an organised set up at present or simply find the cost of travelling, etc, within their existing set up prohibitive."
The Teesborough Ladies League is also hoping to be granted feeder status from the FA which would mean the league winners will have the opportunity to move up to a higher standard, if they choose.
Any interested clubs in the Teesside and Durham areas should contact either Trevor Wing on (01642) 593687 or 07860 780446 or Paul Conway on (01642) 875801 or 07769 549184 for further information.
