A SNAPSHOT of what a changing town used to look like is being presented in an exhibition this weekend.
Officials at Stockton are so enthusiastic about the exhibition of photographs by professional photographer Jack Marriott, that they are encouraging other photographers to look through their own collections for forgotten shots of the town.
Mr Marriott worked as a professional photographer in Stockton from 1953 until 1989. As well as recording industrial subjects, he also took portraits and many Stockton weddings.
His work includes illustrations from local publications.
Rachel Mason, Stockton Borough Council's community history officer, said: "Through this wonderful selection of photographs, Jack sympathetically captures Stockton at a time of great change and the exhibition is well worth viewing."
The exhibition is in Stockton's Green Dragon Museum and runs from today until March 1. Admission is free.
