A LEADING member of the Jewish community returns to speak at Ripon Cathedral on Sunday at a service to mark the Holocaust.
President of the Leeds Jewish Representative Council, Ian Goldman, will address the congregation during evensong at 5.30pm on the eve of National Holocaust Memorial Day.
It is the second time he has played a part in a service at the cathedral, having read at one of the lessons which were part of the celebrations of the Queen's Golden Jubilee in the summer.
Three years ago, January 27 was chosen as Holocaust Memorial Day as the date marks the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.
