Sunday Invitation Ladies League
Tioxide 2 v 1 Stockton
the majority of the first half was played at the centre of the pitch but towards the end of the half, Tioxide scored the opening goal through a strong, by the attacking players with Sarah McIntyre beating Stockton's stand-in keeper Michelle Coupland. The second half was dominated by the home team with an early goal from Lisa Morley. Despite the best attempts of the visitors they were unable to pull the match back. After a tiring match Tioxide defence finally broke by the under-strength nine players of Stockton to provide their goal.
Players of the match: Cheryl Brown (Tioxide), Emma Renwick (Stockton).
Guisborough 0 v 3 Roseberry
An exciting game began with Guisborough enjoying long spells of possession but unable to create any openings. Guisborough were then caught on the break when they gave the ball away in their attacking 25m. Three crisp, accurate long passes by Roseberry culminated in their opening goal scored by Rowen Simpson.
Guisborough never recovered and Roseberry took control adding their second through Lindsey Henry a short while later.
Roseberry started the second half as they ended the first with some excellent passing and moving and were unlucky not to add a third due to some dogged defending by the home team. However, the breakthrough came when player of the match, No 21, added her second and the away team's third.
Players of the match: Allison Innerd (Guisborough), Lindsey Henry (Roseberry).
It was Stokesley who were creating more chances and put a lot of pressure on the Richmond defence.
Richmond's goalie was the main reason the score was 0-0 at half-time as she pulled off half a dozen very good saves.
Stokesley came out second half determined to capitalise on their chances. Zoe Lewis led the way when she tucked the ball under the goalie's despairing dive for Sue Hodgson to hit home from her customary 12 inches. The passing continued to stretch Richmond and Zoe Lewis did another sparkling run to scythe through the defence found the keeper and put it in the far corner.
To top off a deserved win Helen Waller crossed from the right and after the defence failed to clear Julie Stainthorpe slotted it home.
Players of the match: Zoe Lewis (Stokesley), Coleen McGourley, gk (Richmond).
