With only two league games played due to cup duties, Whitehill exchanged places at the top of the league on goal difference.
Whitehill entertained Seaham The Duke at home and took an early lead on 12 minutes when Gary Robson got on the end of a Steven Roughley cross. Good work between Gary Robson and Kevin Coates saw Robson make it 2-0 with a diving header. Steven Roughley then made it 3-0 on 26 minutes with a right foot shot. Whitehill were cruising when Gary Robson notched his hat-trick and send Whitehill 4-0 up when he hit an outstanding free kick from 25 yards on 65 minutes. Ten minutes later The Duke missed a penalty and Shortly after Michael Graver hit the bar for Whitehill. The visitors made a remarkable comeback with three goals in the last five minutes of the game with goals from John Dobinson(2) and Martin Taylor.
In the other league game Coxhoe kept up their remarkable form when they trounced Simonside 6-0 at home. In a one-sided game Dean Smithson slammed in a hat trick, Scott Richards netted twice and Sub John Parnaby found the net to complete the scoring. However Simonside's keeper Kevin Garrick had an outstanding game for the visitors.
In the Clem Smith Bowl Cockfield were not at their best when they went down 2-1 at home to Hartlepool Town. Pool opened the scoring when they went ahead on 30 minutes with a goal from Jim Parkinson and two minutes from time Dean Cartwright got the all important winner for the visitors.
In the same competition Ebchester put up a stirling performance against a solid Brandon Station side who eventually won 5-0.
In the Washington AP Trophy
Teesside Arriva were too strong for Sporting Club Sunderland. Arriva scored first through Simon Williamson and Sporting Club held on til the half time whistle. The second half wasn't much different Arriva if anything, got more on top but to their surprise Sporting Club equalised through Paul Adamson. Dave Clark finished the game off when he scored the winner to send Arriva through to the next round.
Shildon Railway went down at home 2-1 to Spennymoor Black and Decker.
Durham Victoria Bridge were totally outclassed they went down 6-0 at home to a strong Belford House side who were 4-0 up at half time.
