Billingham Wolves remain fourth in the English Under-19 North A League following a 7-2 victory over Blackburn Thunderhawks at the Forum ice arena.
Scott War sent Wolves on the road to two points when he struck on the powerplay in the seventh minute.
Blackburn were level shortly before the first interval. Stuart Gibbon restored Wolves' lead in the first minute after the restart.
Billingham increased their advantage with Steven Pritchard and Ward on target at 36.50 and 38.32 for 4-1.
With under a minute to go in the middle period Blackburn grabbed a second goal. The three-goal lead was restored a minute into the final period thanks to a David Thomas strike.
Wolves continued to have the better of Thunderhawks and added two further efforts from James Udell and Liam Telfer.

Sunderland Arrows with no U16 North B League fixture travelled to Belfast for two challenge matches against a Northern Ireland U16 select squad. The first game on Saturday evening was of three 20-minute periods and keenly fought contest.
Jamie Smithson and Adam Kelly gave Arrows a 2-0 lead at 06.53. Then minutes later the scores were level at 3-2. Three unanswered strikes in the second period for Arrows from Smithson, Kelly and Richard Westgarth put them 5-2 ahead.
The select scored twice in the final period and sandwiched in between was a second goal for Westgarth. Arrows won 6-4.
Early start for Arrows on Sunday with a second match against NI U16 select. The hosts went ahead in this game of two 20-minute periods after five minutes. Dean Holland was on hand to equalise for Arrows before the interval.
At 34.55 Sunderland went behind again but within three minutes had retaken the lead as Jeremy Lundin and Holland found the back of the net for a 3-2 victory.

Billingham Falcons are still without a point in the English U14 North A league after a 12-1 defeat at Telford Tiger-Cubs. Falcons went a goal down in the opening minute and trailed 0-4 at the first break 0-9. After two periods and 0-11 before Jay Haisell scored Falcons' lone reply at 34.46. Tiger-Cubs' final goal came two minutes later.

Billingham Pumas were also at Telford facing Terrahawks in the U12 North B League. Terrahawks are top of the table and look certain for the play-offs.
Pumas went ahead on the powerplay at 02.24 through Jonathan Galloway. Telford replied with two goals in the ninth minute and another brace put them 4-1 ahead after the first period.
Galloway grabbed his second at 19.32 73 seconds later Telford had added two more for 6-2. Another three for Terrahawks gave them a 9-2 win.

Sunderland Cherokees entertained Altrincham Spitfires in the English U12 North A League and defeated the bottom of the table side 4-1. Spitfires went ahead at 11.05 and Cherokees were level in the final minute of the first period through Callum Davies.
Grant Sharp gave Cherokees the lead at 25.07 and final period strikes from Nathan Salem and Sharp rounded off the scoring.

Whitley Bay Squaws picked up their second win of the season in the women's division one North with a 2-1 victory at Nottingham Vipers. Nottingham went ahead at 09.09 and Gabby Woodhouse with her first goal equalised four minutes later. Sarah Christie's winning goal came after 26 minutes.

Whitley Tomahawks relegation fears remain after a 6-1 home defeat to Bradford Pirates in the U16 North A League.

Kingston Jets in third place went down 5-2 to Billingham Bombers at the Forum ice arena. Bombers went a goal behind in the 70th minute but two goals in the 11th minute from Stephen V Johnson and David Thomas got Bombers 2-1 ahead. Three goals in the middle session through Andrew Fletcher, Martin Lewis and Simon Hehir increased the lead to 5-1 before Jets reduced the deficit.

Altrincham Aces had a 13-4 victory at Sunderland Chiefs. After a first minute goal Aces led 5-0 before Jonathan Heslop at 22.38 pulled a goal back. Michael Allinson (2) and player/coach Kevin Musther struke in the final six minutes of the second period to trail 4-7. Aces secured the win with six without reply in the final period.
Chiefs handed debuts to Chris Brown, Richard Horkan and Paul McGinnety.

Whitley Warriors remain fourth after an 11-4 victory at Flintshire Freeze. Daniel Good opened the scoring at 02.42 and Whitley raced into a 6-1 first period lead.
Darren Taylor netted their only goal of the second period which was shared. Kevin Bucas struck twice in the last period to complete his hat-trick.
The night before Warriors hosted Sheffield Scimitars in the Northern Cup. Andrew Tindale equalised for Whitley on the powerplay at 25.12 and Andrew Carter put them 2-1 ahead 27 seconds later. Sheffield hit back to lead 3-2 at the second break. Whitley's failure to keep out of the penalty box in the final period allowed four powerplay goals to Sheffield for a 7-2 victory.
