CONTRACTS worth £50,000 have been won by a charity which is creating employment for people on the Firthmoor estate.
The Firthmoor Association for Community Enterprise Ltd (Face), operates a handyman service, which already employs two local men.
Mark Fabb, community development officer, said the new work covered the public and private sector, and included environmental projects and shopfitting.
He said it was hoped to give a further six people short-term employment as a result.
Mr Fabb said: "We are seeking to employ more people and I am delighted that we have won these contracts."
