TWO men were jailed last night for a string of burglaries - including a raid on their former schools.

John Forajter, 24, of Linmoor Avenue, Middlesbrough, and Lee Williams, 26, of Margrove Walk, Middlesbrough were appearing at Teesside Crown Court.

Forajter pleaded guilty to burgling a house in Trentham Avenue, Middlesbrough, stealing prescription drugs in a burglary of Lloyds Pharmacy in Middlesbrough, entering an office in Marton with intent to steal and burglary of Ormesby Carpets, accompanied by Williams.

He also broke into Laurence Jackson Comprehensive school in Guisborough and stole £1,770 and a jacket.

Williams pleaded guilty to entering Ormesby Primary School and stealing chocolate in October, entering Nunthorpe Hair fashions and stealing perm solution and money, burglary of Ormesby Carpets and burglary of Keldholme Comprehensive school in Middlesbrough.

The court heard the pair were heroin addicts who committed crimes to feed their habits.

Sentencing, Judge Tim Hewitt said: "These were obviously well planned burglaries and not spur of the moment.

"Schools these days have to have bars on the windows to keep people such as yourselves out. I gather they were schools that you both formerly attended yourselves."

Forajter was sentenced to four years in prison and Williams to three.
