ONE of the region's attractions is opening earlier this year.
Castle Howard house - known to millions as the setting for TV's Brideshead Revisited - is opening on February 14, a month earlier than usual.
With short breaks becoming more popular, York and the surrounding area is being promoted as a place to visit all year round.
The York Tourism Bureau's "Stay just a little bit longer" campaign is aimed at the short break market, offering discounts on three-night accommodation until March, including vouchers for visits to attractions.
