FOUR oil paintings from a North-East museum are to feature in a touring exhibition later this year.
The Bowes Museum, in Barnard Castle, County Durham, has agreed to donate four oil paintings to feature in an exhibition called Flower Power, which will be shown in Norwich and Sheffield.
The exhibition, which is being overseen by the museum's conservator of paintings, Richard Hobson, aims to demonstrate, through art, the power that flowers have in every culture to symbolise life, beauty and death.
It is also designed to illustrate the impact that the cut flower had on European fine and decorative art.
