THE fight against crime on the North Yorkshire coast has been given a major boost.
The Government has given £124,000 to a scheme to tackle crime in Scarborough.
The money will be used to reduce gun crime, disrupt drugs markets, and fund security cameras and warden schemes, a spokesman for the Scarborough Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership said.
In addition, £121,000 has been given to police in Scarborough, Ryedale and Hambleton.
